According to New York Times, a US TV channel FOX Networks will end its Saturday morning block of cartoon programs in January 2009. 4Kids Entertainment has been holding the block since 2002 and airing cartoons including Japanese animations: “Kirby: Right Back At Ya!”, “Yu-Gi-Oh!”. “Kodai Ouja Kyouryuu King”, “Ojamajo Doremi”, “Shaman King”. The deal between FOX and 4Kids will be terminated at the end of December 2008, and 4Kids will concentrate the programs on CW Networks. Fox executives explained the reason that network TV channels could no longer survive the competition for the children’s programs from the cable channels.
