Synopsis of the first episode
Shinjou Moritaka (“Nickname: Saikoh”) was an ordinary student, who liked to draw. One day, he left his notebook at school, so he went back to pick it up. In the classroom, Takagi, the cleverest student in his year, awaited him with the notebook in the hand. Takagi had already checked Moritaka’s drawings in the notebook and found out Moritaka secretly fancied Azu, his classmate girl. Takagi asked Moritaka to work together with him on writing manga, but Moritaka replied “But I refuse!” (reference to JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) Moritaka told Takagi the cruel realities of the manga author’s lives and said being a manga writer was just a hopeless gambling.
To convince Moritaka, Takagi took him to Azu’s house and declared her that they would become manga writers. In front of Azu, Moritaka had no choice but to accept Takagi’s offer.
