A new Yamato project has been started after 25 years since the last movie.The Director for this new series, Yoshinobu Nishizaki has opened a studio named “Yamato Studio” on July 31 to start producing the new Yamato project.
Space Battleship Yamato was first aired in 1974, with 4 movie adaptations from 1977-1983. This production will be set in the year 2220. Due to the expansion of a mobile Black Hole, Earth is put in danger, and a 300 million people migration plan is put into action. During the migration, the fleet is attacked, and Yamato will be there to defend against it.
After being released on the 19th Dec last year for suspicions of breaching weapon and firearm laws in Japan in 1999, Nishizaki has battled for various legal rights to direct the new project, and aims to release it next year.
