Media Factory, the production company behind the popular series Zero no Tsukaima, announced that production has begun on the third season of the anime. The announcement came with the upcoming release of the thirteenth light novel written by Noboru Yamaguchi and illustrated by Eiji Usatsuka. The thirteenth volume will be released in Japan on the 20th of December.
The first season aired in Japan in 2006 and the second season, Zero no Tsukaima ~Futatsuki no Kishi~, wrapped up this past September. The licence to the first season is held by Geneon, but with their recent pull out of anime distribution, it is still up in the air whether Zero no Tsukaima will ever touch down in North America.
There is no date set on a release yet, but I’d expect a similar summer release as the second series.
