Vuze, Inc., the entertainment provider formerly known as Azureus, Inc., is premiering the anime series Neko Rahmen worldwide with free, English-subtitled video downloads with no digital restrictions. Vuze tells ANN that its Neko Rahmen videos are “full-resolution” files with short advertisements attached. The Vuze video service uses a modified version of Azureus, one of the more popular client programs for the BitTorrent file-sharing network.

Okay, I figured no one would be interested in the actual anime released here but I just thought it was interesting how a company is releasing legal full episodes to be downloaded with on the surface level anyway no strings attached next to advertising. Is this a good idea to battle the whole debate on unauthorized and illegal downloads of anime?
Or as some people may have considered, paying small amounts for legal anime downloads may also be a viable solution. Least there’s people out there trying out alternative solutions (rather then just other companies whinging in court, the papers and press releases on how terrible we all are). It would be good if attempts like this went well.
