Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh, which went on sale yesterday, announced a second season of Gunslinger Girl will be produced in its October issue. The magazine prints the original manga by Yu Aida that inspired the anime series. Marvelous Entertainment, the production house or the anime, had announced a sequel in its 2006-2007 financial report but later edited the report to omit the series. So apparently the series in back in the plans.
