According to GIGAZINE, Production I.G has announced the details of Ghost in the Shell: Arise. It’s a tetralogy film about the past of Motoko when she was in the army. The first 50min-long episode “border:1 Ghost Pain” will be premiered on June 22nd. A pay-streaming of the episode will start on the same day.

In Arise anime, Sakamoto Maaya will play Kusanagi Motoko. A manga adaptation “Ghost in the Shell Arise: Sleepless Eye” will be serialized on Monthly Young Magazine from March.
