According to the official website, Shinkai Makoto’s new anime movie “Kotonoha no Niwa” was announced to be premiered within the first half of the year 2013. Shinkai said it will be his first 恋 (love) story. He said, “There had not been the concept of 恋愛 (romance) before the modern period in the language of Japanese. 恋 (love) had been written as 孤悲 (lone sorrow) since 8th century. Although the story of this movie takes place in current Japan, I’d like to describe such an ancient emotion of lone sorrow.”
