According to Tokushima Newspaper, anime production studio ufotable was announced to set up a movie theater in the Shinmachi district of Tokushima city. ufotable will mainly show anime in the theater regularly. There has been no theater in the district since 2006. Kondo Hikaru, the President of ufotable, is trying to revive the local industry by attracting young people with anime.
