Yaoi-Con is holding a special online auction from March 13-20th for tsunami relief. All the proceeds will go to Japan Red Cross. The items up for bid are signed or one of a kind, and many are non-yaoi including a Trigun poster signed by the creator, Nightow Yasuhiro, and anime director, Nishimura Satoshi. The auction started on March 13th at 8 pm Pacific time (PST) and bidding will end on March 20, 2011 at 6 pm (PST). Please view this thread or visit Yaoi-Con’s official website for more information. Crunchyroll, an online video service and community for anime and Asian entertainment, has set up a Japan Earthquake Donation Fund on their website. For every dollar that is donated, Crunchyroll will match the donation (up to $5,000 USD).

WeHeartJapan is holding a charity event to support Japan this Thursday, March 17th from 8 pm to 11 pm at Meltdown Comics in Hollywood, CA. Upcoming Anime Conventions that are accepting donations
Zenkaikon, the Philadelphia Area Anime Convention, will be accepting donations next week to be delivered directly to the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami fund set up by the American Red Cross. They plan to have collection stations at Zenkaikon’s merchandise table, and to have donation opportunities at their larger events. Zenkaikon takes place March 18-20th in King of Prussia, PA.
Shuto Con, Lansing’s Premiere Anime Convention, will be accepting donations at their upcoming two day convention to help support the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Donations will be received at their registration desk in the form of cash, money order, or check (made payable to the American Red Cross). Shuto Con takes place March 25-26th in Lansing, MI.
Con-Nichiwa, the premiere anime convention of Tucson, Arizona, will be having a fundraiser for the victims in the Japan quake, with a raffle for people who donate. Con-Nichiwa takes place on March 25-27th in Tucson, AZ. For updates, check Con-Nichiwa’s twitter.
Kitacon, a UK anime convention, has announced the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal as their official charity for this year and is urging its attendees to donate. In addition, Kitacon is going to hold an auction at their convention to contribute to the appeal. Kitacon takes place on April 1-3rd at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, UK.
