IG Port, the parent company of Production I.G and XEBEC, announced extraordinary losses of 201 million yen ($2.22 million). 72.6% of the losses has arisen from the allowances for bad debt: IG Port failed to collect the payment from a producer of an anime movie, which XEBEC is partly involved in. The IR report didn’t name the title of the movie but XEBEC is currently involved in Break Blade and Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor ~Heaven and Earth~ movie. it’s likely to be Uchuu Senkan Yamato: Fukkatsu-hen.
The IR statement also revealed that
1. One of IG’s anime was not successful and it caused 23 million yen of impairment loss.
2. A TV series related to the anime movie above was canceled and IG Port suffered 72 million yen of operating loss.
