The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) will hold an exhibition of Japanese TV and Film anime called “ANIME! High Art – Pop Culture” from May 15th till August 23rd.

About 400 items such as the key animations, movies, character models are displayed in the Academy Galleries locates in Beverly Hills. The featured anime are as follows:
Akira
Dragon Ball Z
Ghost in the Shell
Sailor Moon
Pokemon
Princess Mononoke
Yu-Gi-Oh!
The same exhibition was held in Deutsches Filmmuseum, Frankfurt last year.

Update
AMPAS invites Miyazaki Hayao to the exhibition and holds a symposium on July 28th. Along with the symposium, “Spirited Away” will be shown at Samuel Goldwyn Theater on July 17th. Miyazaki will also give a lecture at University of California, Berkeley on July 25th.
