Suda Yoshiki, a professional Mahjong player and the champion of the 5th Jong-Oh tournament, replied to the question about “Saki” on a Mahjong fan’s website.
Question:
Is it possible to remain plus/minus zero in the three consecutive rounds on purpose if there is a large difference in the skills among the players?
Is it possible to remain plus/minus zero in the three consecutive rounds on purpose if there is a large difference in the skills among the players?
Answer:
It’s absolutely impossible to do it intentionally. It completely depends on chance.
Saki outstands as a Moe manga but I don’t think the ability of “plus/minus zero” is attractive. The ability proves Saki having an extraordinary skill but it’s too plain to make a mahjong manga exciting.
Her absurdly powerful ability to self pick Rinshan Kaihō (嶺上開花) is more interesting to me.
I haven’t read the manga so much, so I’m not sure about the detail….. sorry, it’s a lie. I’m pretty much into the manga.
