According to Planète-Jeunesse, it was announced at Chibi Japan Expo held in Paris that a producer John Chalopin and a French television company TF1 will remake a Japanese anime Mysterious Cities of Gold (Japanese title: Taiyou no Ko Esteban) into three new series, 26 episodes each. The show is scheduled for 2011 release. Mr. Chalopin didn’t mention if any Japanese company will be involved in the remake.
Mysterious Cities of Gold was originally aired in Japan in 1982. It was a collaboration of Japanese and French animation companies.
