Game producer Kojima Hideo and Shikura Chiyomaru (the President of MAGES. and the original planner of Steins;Gate game) officially announced in HideRadio that they are working together to produce a new adventure game on consumer game consoles. Its anime adaptation has already been planned. The game is scheduled to be released in 2012 following Robotics;Notes.
The protagonist is a 17 year old boy and Kojima wants to describe the development of the character by a train of events and accidents which are directly connected to the real life instead of jumping into a fantasy world. Shikura thinks it’ll be easier to introduce the game to North America and Europe with anime and manga than promoting the game itself.
