Lucky Star related merchandise has been getting a big boost in sales thanks to the anime adaption of the series (which was originally a filler comic). Each of the DVDs that have been released have had sales over 50,000. The pre-sale numbers for the volume four limited edition and regular edition have brought in sales over 53,000. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya set (8 volumes in total) has sold 530,000 and since Lucky Star is a 12 volume set, it could eventually surpass The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya if it keeps the selling pace.
