According to the press release, a Japanese anime production company AIC will make a live action movie based on Bubblegum Crisis in collaboration with a Singaporean movie company CUBIX International (“Zodiac”). The two company will invest several billion yen (several ten million dollars) in the production of the movie and plan to release it in 2011 mainly in US.
Bubblegum Crisis was released as an OVA series in 1987 and its TV series was aired in 1998. In the same press release, AIC mentioned a possible new series of Bubblegum Crisis.
