Mangaka Ushiki Yoshitaka posted on his twitter that he was disappointed to read a report of director Yamauchi Shigeyasu’s talk session about Yumekui Merry. In the report, Yamauchi confessed that he failed to wrap up the story of the anime. He said, “I don’t understand the concept of ‘moe’ well and couldn’t direct the action scenes well. I thought slow actions might be suitable for moe anime, but it was not a good idea.” Ushiki felt sad to know that the anime director considers the Merry anime a failure.
