A demonstration parade claiming the improvement of Otaku’s status was held in Hong Kong on March 29th. Anime fans marched through the downtown in the costumes of the anime characters. The movement broke out when a local radio program introduced the term Otaku as “men with poor educational background, lacking self-confidence and social skills”.
