According to Anime! Anime! news, Radix Mobanimation, the production company of “Appleseed Genesis”, sued Micott & Basara Inc., the executive producer of the anime, for the illegal overdue payment of the production fee.
Radix claimed in the petition that Micott ordered them to suspend the production of Appleseed Genesis in July 2008 and the production fee has been left unpaid since then.
Appleseed Genesis was announced to be aired on TV in the spring 2009.
The production schedule of Appleseed Genesis had been accelerated taking its worldwide release into account. Normally, the completion of an anime episode precedes its airing by two or three weeks but the production of all the episodes of Appleseed Genesis was planned to be finished before the premiere.

Micott refuted agaist Radix that they ordered to stop the production because the production schedule of Radix was so slow that they would not meet the deadline. They promised to resume the production of Appleseed Genesis and complete it as planned.
