According to their website, Otakon has announced that award winning director, animator, and voice actor Makoto Shinkai will appear as a guest at this year’s convention.
Otakon is the second largest anime convention in North America second only to Anime Expo. This year it will be held from July 29 – July 31 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Maryland. Other guests to be at Otakon this year include Johnny Yong Bosch, CHEMISTRY, Tony Oliver, Lisa Ortiz, and Tom Wayland.
Makoto Shinkai’s newest movie, Children who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below, was released this past May.
