The chief judge Matsushita Shun-ya said the judges got into an imbroglio over whether they should choose the foreign anime Wall-E since the objective of Animation Kobe is to promote of the anime industry in Japan. They finally reached the agreement because Wall-E’s harmony between the animation and the digital technique was noteworthy.
